In this 5-day workshop, Bryan Hopkins will share his 30+ years of working with porcelain, including low fire porcelain (!), techniques for translucence, surface manipulation, combining coil/slab/thrown/slipcast parts, and history of porcelain. There will be informative discussions and daily exercises geared toward finding inspiration through personal exploration of one’s own practice, both in and out of the studio. Participants are encouraged to bring their curiosity and creativity to contribute to the conversation. Attendees will gain the skills and confidence necessary to explore the many aspects of porcelain, including form, texture, line, and color.
Prerequisites: Participants should have a basic knowledge of working with clay.
